Market (Local or National)

Is Business success based on your efforts or can you
leverage the work of others you train?

Market Trends
Is the product viable for the next few decades? Would you start a
company that produces typwriters right now? Probably not in this
Information Age.
  • Will you have repeat customers or will you always be looking for
someone new? If you were to sell a non-consumable product will
you have a repeat customer? or just a one-time sale?
  • How competitive is the market for this product/service? Is the
    market saturated?
  • Is the product/service a need or a want? If the product/service is
not a life necessity then people will choose not to buy it.
  • Does the product/service appeal to both men and women? You
don't want to leave out half the population when it comes to having
    customers.
  • Does the product/service appeal to all age groups? Can the
product/service be used by all age groups?
  • Can people in all financial brackets afford the product/service?
  • In a local market, is there a need for the product/service? Are there
providers for the service? Are there retail stores competing for your
    product?
  • If you had to move across the country would your business survive
the move? Military spouses consider this all the time. What if you
had to move to another state to take care of an ill parent? Would
you loose all of your customers? Consider a service business that
can be done online anywhere in the country (or overseas using the
    internet).
Do you earn just based off of 100% of your efforts or can you leverage
your earnings an make 1% off of 100 people you train to work with you
in your your business?

If you had 100 people working the business with you that you make a
percentage off of, then if each of these people were to work just one
40-hour work week, It would take you 2 years to put in the same amount
of effort that they did in just a week. If you can leverage earnings off of
their effort your check should grow faster. This is the strategy behind
Direct Selling and Network Marketing.
